How-To Power On TV Studio


1. Rack #1: The System Main Power button should always be on (so you shouldn't need to flip the switch).


2. Rack #3: Confirm that the Control Room Speakers are on.


3. Rack #7-11: Turn the CCUs on by flipping the three switches (on the left-hand side of the panel where it says Power).


4. Rack #17: Confirm that Channels A & B are on.


5. Rack #32-35: Flip the center switch (located above the red and green lights) to turn on Broadcast Pix.


6. The monitors should turn on automatically once the previous steps are completed.


7. The computer at the left-hand side of the desk (right next to the rack unit) is used for Broadcast Pix. You can open the application by clicking on the logo once the screen turns on.


8. On the intercom speakers, the talk button should light up blue.


9. The audio mixer board should already be on. But if it isn't, the power button is on the backside of the board in the right-hand corner (located directly behind where it says Tape In).


10. The black laptop to the right of the audio mixer is for the teleprompters. The prompter software will automatically open.


11. The white Apple computer is used for recording. You can log into it by selecting the Student account (the password is- student).


12. The TV above the recording computer gets turned on at the bottom right.

      HDMI 1 - puts Broadcast Pix on the screen.

      HDMI 2 - puts the recording Mac on the screen.


13. To turn on the desk speaker (right-hand side of the desk) the power button is in the lower left corner.


14. The On Air light is next to the studio door (this will light up the sign outside of the control room in the hallway).


15. The 12 breaker switches on the wall outside of the studio door need to be turned on in order to use the studio lights.


16. In the studio is the light board (located on the desk as soon as you walk in through the door, it has a protective case around it).


17. To turn on the light board click the Power Button in the top right-hand corner.


18. Bring up the two sliders that are labeled IND 1 and IND 2 (located at the bottom right-hand side of the board).


19. Then you can follow the yellow instruction sheet (which is on the same table as the light board) to turn on different presets for the lights. Or you can play around with the sliders yourself to get whatever kind of lighting you'd like.



How-To Power Off TV Studio


1. To turn off the light board, bring all the sliders back down.


2. Then, bring down the two sliders labeled IND 1 and IND 2 at the bottom right of the board.


3. Lastly, hit the Power Button. To confirm power off, press the button with the check mark (the button is labeled Menu and is to the right of the dial).


4. Turn off the 12 breaker switches outside the TV studio door.


5. Turn off the On Air light outside of the TV studio door if it is on.


6. To turn off the desk speaker, the power button is in the lower left-hand corner.


7. To turn off the TV above the Mac, the power button is located at the bottom right of the screen.


8. Rack #32-35: Flip the center switch (located above the red and green lights) to turn off Broadcast Pix.


9. Rack #7-11: Turn the CCUs off by flipping the three switches (on the left-hand side of the panel where it says Power).


10. Rack #1: Keep the System Main Power button on.
