Unlike previous phones deployed at the College, the new Avaya J100 Series IP handsets are designed to give the end-user greater flexibility and control over their communication experience. As a result, your handset button configuration and preferences are no longer tied to a single physical phone but rather keep those items in a "Unified Communications" user account -- the same account that allows you to log into your Avaya softphone. Please follow the steps below to log into your handset.

Logging Into a Handset

  1. At the screen below, please enter your Avaya UC user credentials (will be the same as your Avaya softphone)
    • Username: Your 4-digit extension (e.g., 5555)
    • Password: Your UC user credentials, typically your extension twice (e.g., 55555555)
  2. Press Enter to log in -- your phone will download your handset configuration

Log Out of a Handset

  1. Click the "hamburger" button (3 horizontal lines - Labeled 1st)

  2. Choose Applications

  3. Select Log Out

  4. Confirm Log Out
