Inputs 1-13 - Computer Stations
- At the metal equipment rack at the far end of the room, there will be two remotes to turn on the Samsung TVs. Both of them are (or should be) set to HDMI 1/DVI.
- Using the numbered buttons on the HDMI KVM Switch located at the top of the metal equipment rack, select the number corresponding to the computer station you want to share. For the double-digit computers (10-13) you will first need to hit the 1+ button (located at the bottom right hand side of the switch control panel), and then select the second number. You should then see the number corresponding to the computer being shared displayed on the LED screen and the content from the computer will be showing on the TVs. All computers will have a number sticker located along the bottom of the monitor (they are numbered sequentially with the seat closest to the door being #1 and proceeding clockwise around the room). It will take no more than 5 seconds for the content on the computer to display on the TVs.
Input 14 - BluRay Player
- Input 14 is used for the BluRay player. The BluRay remote for powering on the player is located at the metal equipment rack.
- On the HDMI KVM Switch, press the 1+ button and then the 4 button. You will then see the number 14 displayed on the LED screen and the content from the BluRay player will be showing on the TVs.
Input 15 - ShareLink

Input 16 - HDMI Connection
- Input 16 is used for connecting a personal device to the TVs using an HDMI cable. One end of the cable will get plugged directly into the HDMI port on the front of the metal equipment rack. The other end will get plugged into your personal device.
- On the HDMI KVM Switch, press the 1+ button and then the 6 button. You will then see the number 16 displayed on the LED screen and the content from your personal device showing on the TVs once the HDMI cable is plugged in.
Volume Control
- Underneath the HDMI KVM Switch on the metal equipment rack you will find a volume knob. This will raise, lower, and mute the volume coming through the ceiling speakers when audio is being played from the shared device. When the light indicator is red that means mute is engaged. Please do not adjust the volume directly on the TVs.
Powering Down
- When users are done sharing content to the TVs, do not power down the metal equipment rack. Instead, log-out of the computers and power off the TVs using the two Samsung remotes.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
No content being displayed on the TVs
- Confirm the correct input is selected on the HDMI KVM Switch at the top of the metal equipment rack.
Mac stations: Inputs 1-13
BluRay player: Input 14
ShareLink: Input 15
HDMI cable: Input 16
- Confirm the TVs are on the correct input (HDMI 1/DVI).
No audio coming through ceiling speakers
- Confirm the volume mute isn't engaged on the metal equipment rack (red light means mute is on). Also, confirm that the volume knob isn't set to the lowest setting.
- On the device being used for sharing, you may need to go into the audio settings and select Extron D as the output device. Also, confirm that audio on the device being used for sharing isn't muted/low.
Metal equipment rack isn't receiving power
- If you aren't seeing lights on the metal equipment rack, it may have been shut off. There is 1 master power switch, and a separate power switch for the HDMI KVM Switch on the front of the rack > confirm those are on. They should not be shut off after use.
